1024x768 is good. Anyway, there's right-click > View Image. That should view the image individually and scale it to fit the window. If you right-click > right-click on View Image (at least in Firefox), it'll view the single image in a new tab.

Nice knife, but I wouldn't find it practical for EDC.

They are discontinued, did you get a large Persian, is that why you sold it?

I haven't been working steady. The bills are piling up.I sold over half my collection so far.Needless to say,I'm pretty disgusted

Jill, you've posted some very nice pics of some very nice knives. I like your taste in cutlery

Do you use yours, or do they live in the safe?

I don't use 97% of my knives. I never use any that have collector value. My Dad has 100's of all sorts of knives and I just use what I need.(mostly his:D) I know a lot of people see a knife no matter what price or how rare it may be, as a tool to be used. I don't see it like that and enjoy them for their design and inherent beauty. Using them and scarring them up would be like defacing a work of art, to me. Bottom line is I know they are meant to be used, but I can do what I need with just a few of my knives. (OK, I'm weird and like looking at unblemished mint knives, I'm sure there's others:))

But but but!! The art is in the design, designed for the ability to cut cut cut!

But I guess I'm like that with everything; I have cheap sunglasses because I wanted ones that looked good, not because I wanted ones to protect my eyes

I'm more of a collector and like the thought that, some of my knives are worth a lot more than I paid for them. Using them makes them worth less. So, each to their own.

Photos are excellent, if you can do this well with a brand new camera, you'll be one of the best photographers here once you get more familiar with it. As for size, it's fine for me, but if you want a simple way to make your photos smaller, Picassa is free, and can resize entire groups of pictures.

As for the "collectors -vs- users" thing. The "knife community" is, in reality, a collection of many diverse factions, each of which can't understand why anyone in their right mind would want to belong to one or more of the others. I know, I do it myself, perhaps more than most.

I don't think there's any magic dust that will ever unite all of us. But I will say this; for those categories of man-made objects not intended as "art for art's sake", there is both a legitimate need to demonstrate that the item can fulfill its intended purpose and an equally legitimate need to preserve at least a few pristine specimens for the enlightenment of future generations. For that reason, both users and collectors are essential.

I'll have to look into Picassa it might offer me something I don't have.

Jill there is also a tiny tiny tiny program you can download from the Microsoft websight (look under the download section ;) ) It's name is resizer. Once you load it. You just click on any picture and a little box comes up for options. It'll keep the original as is if you want and make a copy at the size you wish.

I sorta like the big pictures myself, rather detailed and stunning compared to the tiny ones.
