Hi All,

Tried something different this week, a Kriss, pushing my own envelope again, Hope you like this one as much as I do. I really don’t know how many more of these I am going to make. It was a bitch to make this. This one comes without a sheath it needs leather and I only work in Kydex. If I molded Kydex to fit this you would never be able to pull it out.

Here are the specifics:

Steel: Aldo’s 3/16ths 1095 (actually it’s a little thicker)
Rockwell hardness: 58-59
Overall length: 6 inches
Height: At the handle about 2 inches the wave at the widest is about 1.5 inches
Length of blade: From the tip to the scales 5 inches
Scales: Black Walnut fastened with two 1/8 inch brass pins
Finish: Mirror
Price: $85.00 shipped to the lower 48 and worth every penny. Like I said it’s a bitch to make this. I don’t believe I have ever seen another one like it. Comments as always are welcome.

Thanks for looking, Ken

Hi All,

That was quite a response, thanks. Looks like Ill be making a few more. Ill hold the price through the weekend after that it is going to go up. This blade style is VERY labor intensive.

Thanks,

Ken

Sure not a problem. I will hold the price at $85.00. Its gonna take a week to make. Likely I will be able to ship a week from Monday. Paypal address is kenhills@gmail.com same as my email address. If you want to send me something towards it, it would be appreciated. Walnut handle good for you? I also have some nice Black cherry or maple both light woods but good and hard.

Thanks,
ken

I started 2 more today they should be ready by the week end.

Here are the rough blanks. Aldos 3/16ths 1095.

I'm toying with the idea of rounding out the square end on the blade. Any thoughts?

Ken,

The kris arrived today. It's just an amazing knife. I love the design, craftsmanship and materials. Thank you.

Thanks Ara.

Today the two Kriss (don't know whats the plural Krisses?) have the scales on and have been sanded through 320 grit. I particularly like how the Red Maple is coming out. With a little luck I will have them finished on Friday.

Here we have the two finished Kriss. The lighter of the 2 is Red Maple the darker is Bubinga. 3/16ths 1095 to a Rockwell of 60 both a little over 6 inches long. I will be putting them up for sale later in a separate post with more pictures for $95 each.
