Krouse knives??

I believe you are looking for Allen Krouse. He use to live in Humble Texas. He was a good friend of my fathers. I have many of his knives. I've lost touch with him since my father past away but I think I could probably locate him. Jeff
 
I got one of his knives as a gift (all the men in the family got matching knives) and mine was immediately lost in 1996? My brother recently found that it had absconded to his house for 13 years and recently surfaced. I know nothing about the maker and his knives and was just looking for any info, website or photos of his work.

I worked with Al Krouse in the 80's making knives. He could grind as fast and straight as anybody there was. I learned so much from him it is amazing.
I think he lives down around Sargent Texas but I am not sure. I have been told that he does not make knives anymore. That is terrible because he was a great knife maker.

An old thread but would anyone know what type of steel he (Allen Krouse) typically used?
