I need recommendations for retail stores that carry machetes & krukis in the Vancouver and/or Seattle area.

My dau lives in Vancouver and will be doing some extensive field work in SE Asia in about 6 months and has expressed a desire for the Cold Steel Krukis in the 12” blade. I would like her to be able to handle the various style machetes and krukis’s (and not limited to Cold Steel) before I buy it. She wants me to ‘tweak’ it for her. I will buy it, tweak it here and then ship it to her in Vancouver.

If you know of one or more stores that carry these, please post the name of the store, city/country.

And, what little research I have done so far, the Cold Steel Krukis in the 12" blade did not fare well. Any recommendations welcomed regardless of where you live.

Thanks....

If there will be prolonged use of the machete/kuk I would recommend either a micarta or a "rubber" handle (like on the Kershaw Outcast). Knives such as the Ontario RTAK II might also be worth looking at and RAT is releasing their "Lite Junglas Machete" here in the next couple days (said to be around $50). I also highly recommend a convex edge for any chopper (just my opinion, I know some won't agree with me).

I like kuks as they make incredible brush clearing tools but if it will not be cutting saplings/thich brush a machete is my personal preference. Ontario makes some good machetes as well that I think should be considered, along with Imacasa, Tramontina and others...
