I got in my Izula sheath from Derrick and after wearing it for a few days.....

I love it!

Innovative and very well made. The well made part comes as no big surprise as everything I've handled from Sharpshooter has been top quality.

The innovative part is where this thing gets exciting. The retention system is different from anything else I've seen and it works like a charm. The snap is in exactly the perfect spot to be disengaged by the drawing thumb. If the snap isn't released, the blade isn't coming out of the sheath.

But anyway, enough talk. Here's some pics:

Yea, it's my butt.....Don't hate.

Size comparison with some of the early sheaths I made, it's really not much bigger and the classy look makes up for the slight increase in bulk in my opinion.

My only complaint is that the firesteel loop is kinda small. I could work it a bit and get it big enough for a LMF style steel in there but the bigger style that are so popular as of late won't fit. But seeing that this is for a small, EDC style blade, I assume it makes sense. I guess my half inch thick, 12 inch long steel will have to live in my sock drawer a bit longer.

gorgeous! didn't see them on ksf yet, any idea when they'll be available? i might have just missed them...

If I'm not mistaken they're available on the Izula page.

Also available there are some firesteels that are made to fit the sheath.:foot:

Sorry Derrick, I didn't see that.:o

Thanks for the review.

The firesteel thing....we chose to do a much smaller one because the larger ones were so out of sync with the light, small rig with the IZULA.

I can't wait until more of these get into people's hands!

Once I went to your site and saw the little firesteels the whole world made sense again. Misch metal too.

Looks like a pretty tight fit, will it fit one with a wrap??

That really looks like a great sheath :D
I really need one of those (in black;))

It will fit one that is wrapped--no problem.

We should have some black ones in about a week or so.

Ohhhhhh the torture! I've got a black one on order with a Bravo Necker. Can't wait till the set gets here. Glad to see a review already.

Hey Shotgunner, that orange sheath you made is very nice also, I like a smaller sized more concealed sheath. Nice Job.

Is that a left handed sheath Shotgunner ? Or haven't I had enough coffee ?

Yes, I am a member of the superior minority.:D

Thanks. I really struggled with the foldover sheaths for the Izulas. Think I just about have them down now. Thats one of the earlier ones. Not the best retetion but the Mrs. likes it like that, easier to get out.

My newer ones are like a vault.
