Thanks Mr Ellis,
One of the MANY things I learned when researching to buy kitchen knives was to TRY different makers. And not to be worried about "matching sets" But I also found that just like folding or tactical knives I carry, there are lots of makers who have "A" knife that feels good, or works good. Most Spydercos feel good AND work good for me. Wusthof knives make more that feel good and work good for ME.
Each of the other Tactical makers have one or two models that fit my needs. And I own em.

Some of theTactical makers don't have knives that fit my needs. I DON'T OWN ANY.

Selection, warranty, availability, ergonomics, aesthetics are all factors for my selection. And so is value. So is a company's or purveyor's ethics. I don't buy price controlled anything. Not PT Cruisers. Not refrigerators. Not kitchen knives. It says to me "this product isn't competitive quality wise with others on the market. I will gouge the buyer while the product is new or scarce. The longer I control the price, the more profit I will make."
