The Kamloops Target Sports Association is holding their annual gun show again this year on April 23-24, 2016. This show has traditionally been well represented by knife makers, especially from the Western Canada Knife Association (WCKA).

Ok I know that some of you are thinking, "where in the hell is Kamloops BC?" Well it's only a couple hours north of Vancouver... Which is a few hours north of Seattle... You get the point.

Anyhow, I'll have my own table at this show. So, I will share some pictures below of what I am bringing. I know that some other BF members have tables there this year, and was hoping others would share their work as well.

I will update as I complete more knives.

Nice work Shane. I really like the culinary knife:thumbup:
I'll post some pics of what I will have when I get them done......making a few "simple" ones for the show, but I should have some "gingerbread" stuff for display, if not for sale.
Lots of other makers attend this show every year. Bob Lay, Frank Niro, Roger Hatt, Del Corsi, Bruce Culberson, and a bunch more I am likely forgetting. Hopefully you get a few more pics in this thread.
Darcy:)

Those are good ones for sure, Shane. I will be looking forward to seeing them if you still have them at show time.
Frank

Thanks gents. I look forward to seeing you both there.

As it so happens, my table is right next to Rod Nielsen's, so there's a good chance I'll walk away from this show a little bit poorer (but with a new disc grinder).

Nice, I"m just bringing myself. I missed the Salmon Arm one this fall so I have an itch that's getting worse.

it's pretty much spring in BC already! Sounds like a neat show.

Nice start on your knives Shane! Is that bog oak on the tapered tang hunter?

I'll be there - Table C101. I've got a ways to go on my blades though! Gonna be some late nights out in the shop till I'm ready.

I'll post back as I get further along:thumbup:

That looks like a good start Bruce. I don't recall seeing a lot of kitchen knives last year at the show, so its good to see a cleaver in the mix with your knives.

That is indeed Bog Oak on my tapered hunter. Good eye!

Here's the little brother to the Bocho. This is a petty knife with curly koa, and Gabon ebony. They both need to be sharpened and a makers mark.

Always love hitting the KTSA show and getting a chance to look at some beautiful blades and a chance to talk to makers. I also manage to come home with a lighter wallet. Can hardly wait its one of the huighlights of the spring.

Shane what is the material you are using for the spacer at the front of your kitchen knives I like the colour contrast with the blue.

It's a blue G10 spacer G dub.

Stop by my table and say hello when you make it to the show!

here's a link to the show's website; http://www.ktsa.ca/Gunshow.html

Thanks Lorien. I forgot to post that link.

Lorien -- not that bad a trip for you. Short boat ride then take any one of a couple roads to K. Gee, don't know if Ron Lockhart would have any interest or if Harald Moeller will be back in time but Stuart might be interested and not sure about Mick Langley but maybe you could make it a car load. Hope someone does photos of the show. Too far for me but had I not moved, it would have been just a small trip to the other side of the mountains from where I grew up. Then again, had I not been here I likely would never have found custom knives almost 36 years ago. Never have had a chance to visit with Frank Niro but I do have 3 folders from him from a number of years ago and missed seeing him back in 2007 & 2011. Still have a nice sub-hilt from Roger Hatt and have chatted with him when meeting in Montana. Hope all have a good show and it is nice that something is still available for a knife show in Canada.

The girls said if they are helping at my table this year they want some knives of their own to sell, so we fired up the grinder and forge!

I got to see the blades Bruce's girls designed. Pretty nice stuff for their first go at it.

I should have something to show in the next few days if all goes well.

Darcy:)

Bruce's girls are something else. He's showed me some photos of the hunts and fishing trips they've been on...those girls can do it all!

And looking forward to it Darcy. Your work is always wonderful to see.

Here's another. Forged W1 blade, with nickel silver guard, and birch burl (from Darcy's stash) handle.
