Are these items also banned for carry onto aircraft?

It says that plastic knives are permitted. The FBI (?) website (the one with the cool x-ray pictures and stuff), says those lettuce knives are prohibited.

there are plastic knives, and there are plastic knives.
you can kill someone with something like this - no wonder they are banned. in fact i think you would have much, much more trouble if you were caught with this as opposed to a standard steel folder since it would seem that you are trying to evade their metal detectors with a weapon. 'oops, i didnt know' wouldnt cut it

they confiscate everything at airports these days. have you ever seen a gerber solstice? its a tiny keychain microtool about 1 1/4" long, and absolutely harmless. well, they confiscated that along with a pair of manicure scissors from my girlfriend's purse. what a joke.
and heaven forbid if you fit a 'profile'. i apparently do, since i always get hassled at airports and every time i cross the US/CAN border.
