Kudos to Cold Steel (yup, you read it right)

I would like to see the Pocket Bushman with a better blade too. and I would love to see one side by side with the Mercator K55, from which it is copied.

I thought the Cold Steel PB drew inspiration from the Douk-Douk, and the Mercator did as well. Do you know which came first, the Douk-Douk or the Mercator? I always thought the Douk-Douk was first, but I may be mistaken.

The handle of the PB is pretty "sharp" compared to other knives. Because of the rolled nature of the grip, it does tend to dig into your fingers a bit under heavy use. However, as others have stated, it's not that bad. Compared to using an old style Leatherman PST or even a SOG Powerlock tool without the "wings", the PB is quite comfortable.

If used as a knife under emergency circumstances (like as a back up fixed blade), then I don't think it would bother anyone too much. Furthermore, gloved hands remedy this problem as well. Personally, I don't find it too bad as it is. I throw it into the EDC rotation every so often, and the ergonomics have never given me any real issue.

Am buying an American Lawman for my buddy's birthday, who is a state trooper here...unreal - he carries a gun that cost him over $1,400, and drives an unmarked Dodge Charger that's decked out like it's from a movie, yet carries an $11 piece of crap folding knife that he admits won't really cut through seatbelts too well....this oughta solve that problem!

Got the American Lawman in the mail today, and even though it's a gift for a friend, I opened it up and have been playing with it all morning...rock-solid construction, razor-sharp blade, and overall very impressed with the quality.

Thats the thing with Cold Steel, they have alot of problems, but most of their inexpensive knives are worth the money and they have a few mid range blades
(like the American Lawman) that are pretty good too.

i like the looks of the american lawman, i just may have to add it to the list. i have the ak-47 that things a monster

Has anyone played with the caledonian edge? a friend showed me one, i bought it instantly. it is one of the best knives cs has made. wicked blade , & the tip is the best for getting out deep splinters.where is the pocket bushman made?does it open easy? looks cool .....

I just got a Pocket Bushman. The lock is as stiff as a post, but I like it. If the blade was SK-5 or 1095 I would like it better, still, I think it's a good knife for the money.

wow I didn't know you could get a Cold Steel for walmart knife money

I will have to persue this option... Do really have my eye on a Ti-Lite...

I highly recommend the 26SP Ti-Lite - Strong knife, extremely sharp out of the box! First knife in the 30+ I bought this year I cut myself on!

Is that Cold Steel UH Model # 61LPS..? that is a nice knife!

I have large hands also. Great ergos, agreed.
The Ultimate Hunter has handles made out of
a material called Thermorun. I have never held
a knife this comfortable to hold, very secure grip.
You don't want to put it down. Blade came razor sharp.
(Have not had it long enough to measure handle wear).
So far so good.. Seems to be built like a tank.

I have the AK-47 as well, and even though another poster in another section ran down the AK-47 and other agreed with him, I like the knife and find it to be quite sturdy and feels good in the hands. I also have the Cold Steel Spike, which I like as well, and by the looks of it I plan on getting the CS Ultimate Hunter - looks like a beast! :-)
