Kudos to Hogue

I have a Ritter grip with Wilkins scales and a Hogue Ritter. I think the Hogue is a little better but they are both great

Is there an example a knife jimping that you prefer? I feel like the jimping on the RSK is pretty light compared to the griptilians.

I prefer the jimping on the Sage 5 LW and Native 5 from Spyderco (the two rightmost knives), as it is smaller and not too far apart. My least favorite jimping is probably on the HEST folder (leftmost knife in photo). It isn't painful per se, but it is noticeably uncomfortable to my thumb.

I have a Ritter Grip and a mini Ritter grip. I like them both very much. The Ritter Grip is in my current edc rotation.

I can t talk myself into getting the Hogue version or the Benchmade version with g10 scales.

Thanks. Any comparison to the Hogue Deka in terms of cutting performance?

I have 3 Ritters and a clip point Deka. The Deka's blade stock is thinner than the full sized Ritter. It's looks to be about the same as the mini-Ritter. My Deka came to me as sharp as the Ritters were. They're all 20CV steel, so there's not much difference in what the steel can take and how it performs except for the blade thickness between the two models.

My Deka has done very well as an all-round, everyday blade. It'll slice, puncture, and saw through the stuff I cut as well as the Ritters will. It's a bit less comfortable for me to use in a more severe setting because of the handle shape. It carries very well with that thin handle, but that makes it not quite as comfortable if I'm trying to bear down on some task. The large Ritter would be a better fit for my old, stiff hands. For everyday carry and use, though, the Deka is a definite winner AFAIC.

Someone mentioned Hogue Ritter vs Ritter Griptilian in this thread. Other features aside, I really miss the behind the edge thickness of Ritter Grip, which I believe is thinner than Hogue Ritter.

I was having trouble deciding between the two hogue ritters. I just pulled the trigger on the mini g-mascus. One thing that helped convince me on the mini was that in some youtube comparison videos the cutting edge of mini appeared to be the same as the Benchmade bugout full-size and some other larger folders that I was also looking at buying.

I just got the full size and I have to say Hogue makes a darn nice Benchmade knife o_O... I look forward to trying one of Hogue's other bar lock knives.
My RSK came nice and sharp, perfect action and centering, well done grind. Now I just need to break down and use it for real, still in the "don't want to scratch it" phase.

It's seen light use

It's seem light use over the past year, couple scratches on the clip and sharpened a couple times. I also rounded the scale edges just a bit with some fine sandpaper.

This past summer I got my son an engraved mini red & black version.

I recently bought a Hogue Deka—came razor sharp, blade was centered, and action was clean. I’m not sure why Hogue isn’t mentioned more here.
