hi,
always heard good things about kershaw customer service. found it to be true today!
I saw a kershaw/ken onion 1660BG at a gunshow last weekend and liked it much. The seller was only lacking a gun and a mask - "$150 out the door, no tax." I laughed at him and walked.
Didn't even try to bargain with him. Just didn't want to do biz with him. Most of the time I like the shin kicking at shows, but i wasn't in the mood Saturday.
Anyway, I knew I would get one eventually. The only thing I did not like was the the gold pocket clip. Thought it was a bit much.
Called Kershaw today and asked the young lady who answered how much to buy a black pocket clip for a Leek. She asked for my address. Said it was covered under warranty.
I explained that I didn't even have the knife I yet but was going to purchase one in the near future. and when I did get it, I wanted to buy a black clip for it.
She asked again for my address. I again explained the situation thinking I had not made myself clear the first time.
She listened very patiently until I was through and said, "I got it. You haven't bought the knife yet. We'll send you a clip anyway so you'll be happy with the knife when you do get it. OK?"
wow. i was speechless for a couple of seconds. after all, how often is one treated like that by any merchant, large or small?
my hat is off to kershaw and they now have a loyal customer who is taking a much closer look at their product line.
graham's and some others say a run of 1660BGs are shipping out later this month. i'll have the damn clip before the knife.
cool.
