Kukri + Africa - Suggestions?

Naw, I wish....I don't have the free cash ATM - this is future planning, especially since my trip is a year or two off :-p

I need to save money FOR the trip before I can buy the toys!

It never hurts to plan ahead. I had Yangdu order me a nice "bear knife" for a trip out west a few years ago. It's a 17" Tirtha Bowie with a villager finish. We were going to head out to my father-in-law's favorite fishing hole to spread some of his ashes. My thought was that since my handgun permit wouldn't carry over, I wanted to get a new big honking knife. Now, I know that it wasn't needed. It was 100% an excuse:D

So Yangdu orders me this fantastically crafted piece of fighting steel for a trip we are planning to take 9 months from then...annnnnnnnnd we still haven't made it out there. We're about 4 years overdue:foot: Life has just gotten in the way. BUT, when we DO get out there, the Tirtha Bowie is going with me for sure.

Whaaaat???? I'm DEFINITELY not doing this! :rolleyes: It's not like I have a bunch of other choices already on hand that would WORK :-)

Ya, I plan on hitting up South Africa too, I have contacts down there. I'll try to remember to give you a yell if I get over your way. I figure if I do Africa, might as well do it right and see and do everything....I travel cheap, and plane tickets are the most expensive part of the trip :-p
