Kukri or machete?

Which is better for clearing trails? Which one is a better survival tool? What size/weight should i get? Please help! Thanks

um I think I read an article in Tactical Knives that the kukris from "himalayan imports" were very good .
also you might try the cold steel LTC

Gunner posted this question on the general forum as well, where it's garnered a lot more responses. If Gunner doesn't mind, can we have everyone respond there, so everyone can see all responses in one place?

This has the potential to be a great string, and it'd be nice if everyone saw what everyone else wrote.
