kukri questions =D

I posted a link for Fonly to find his way over here so we'll see.;) It seems that a lot of people have concerns about tang breakage in khuks when they first see such a small tang in relation to such a big blade not realizing the hidden tang on an HI is built strong enough to hold a tank in place.:)

After seeing what my AK has survived, l don't think that tang is ever gonna snap.

No way Jose.

it seems to be a concern that comes up every once and a while... maybe we should make a sticky thread about it with pics of the tang in the HI kuks

As an interesting aside - I recently took an Indian Khukri shaped object (a
tourist special ) apart to have a look what was inside it. First the Laha holding the handle together was impressive - third world epoxy with pretty good adhesion. The rat tail tang was very thin.I rehandled it with a childs scooter handle.Even though the whole knife is pretty poorly made I would expect the Indian blade to fail before the tang.In fact after wailing on the blade the handle is OK but the blade is shocking.( Ripples etc )
However with a HI Khukri it wouldn't surprise me if someone said they used one jack up a Tank to change it's tracks.
