Kukri

Foomonk, since you seem to be interested in production kukris here's another one to consider: the Ontario KC Survival Kukri. I think only Brigade Quartermasters sells it, it's not even in the catalog. Seems to be a full flat grind.

Also, and I don't know if this is readily available where you live, the Italian Fox Cutlery makes a kukri style blade in 440A. They actually make two, but the other one is more of a slightly curved machete. The spine is over 6mm thick (5mm for the other model) IIRC. In any case, these are pretty moderately priced, and Fox has a reputation for good quality. A picture (courtesy of a local retailer).

I have no basis to disagree with the HI recommendations, and this post is not to be taken as such. I just wanted to point out a couple of other factory produced options.

The original and the present (Ken Warner) Blackjack lines include khukuri, but the SS models were less suitable for impact tools. HI would likely be a happier choice, especially if you are not in the UK. The bargains appear irregularly on the HI forum here and go pretty fast. (Busse pond has hogs; HI pond has sharks. ) Product support is outstanding.

(Oh to be able to type well. )

FWIW, it is.

But it's still Ontario, meaning you're taking a chance. Their quality control is somewhat subpar compared with the many other options available. You can't go wrong with HI (to add my inexperienced voice to the many far, far wiser folks who've already said so).

Not on their website at least. Or then I missed it. That was the first place I looked for when I thought of the knife. I would have included it in my original post, but I didn't find reference. I did a search later when it started to bug me.
