kukris for sale

Can you reply to yourself?

All I can say is WOW! You guys are fast on the computer and can spot a deal when you see it.

Please do me a favor and after you get the pix and prices PLEASE send your shipping address and how you want the item shipped (Priority, insured, etc.)

Thanks for the great response and it will be a first come, first served and it will be done by the date on the email to be fair.

Thanks for your response.

Even better guys, how about you DON'T SCREW OVER THIS SITE BY BUYING FROM BASIC MEMBERS?

We have limited access to the For Sale forums for a reason - Gold Memberships keep the doors open. Basic members selling in these forums only hurts EVERYONE including YOU.

is discourteous, so I will keep it to myself.

No need for being discouteous. Spark has rules set down for the use of our playground and one of the rules is no selling by basic members, even in the For Sale Forum.

That's been said here many more times in this forum than should have been needed by reasonable men and women.

Spark lets this forum get away with many things not tolerated on other forums here and I for one appreciate it.
Spark has also been very permissive in letting some Gold and Premium members in this forum post notices of John's raffles and sales before without saying anything and that's pushing the limit.

This sort of thing puts all of us in a difficult position. On one hand we all want to help JP out. On the other hand, Yvsa's right. Spark has been very patient with us on this issue in the past.

One possible solution is we could pitch in and get a gold member account for JP.

I just realized, that the post wasnt just deleted, but JP was banned? So he is no longer allowed to share his knowledge on the forum?:(

Email for JP:

jpsf@sbcglobal.net is now John Powell's current email.

Maybe those interested should send him your own email addresses so he can make up a list of those who wish to be contacted directly when he has something to sell?

That seems the most reasonable and sensible way to not offend anyone but let him have a way to get his sales info sent out to those who'd be interested.

See how easy that was once I took a non-judgemental look at the situation?
( You do believe I stepped back and calmly assesed the situation don't you? Sure I did. And somewhere there's a pig that can whistle. )

Edited to insert JP's current email.

We should support the forums. Kevin isn't asking for an arm and a leg. Getting a gold membership when you are thinking of selling something is a bargain, and we all want our cantina to be here tomorrow.

In John's case I hope he uses his membership to post a lot of pictures. :D

I would send him money to help him buy a gold membership. What about that? I think it is a good option. Do you know if he has a Paypal account?

I think most of us here, including me, respect the rules and want to live by them. The idea of getting John a Gold membership is a good one. I'll email him and offer to buy him one myself. His knowledge is too valuable to lose.

It's only $30/year, right?
And a Gold membership would allow John to easily upload lots of pictures to this site.:)
Where do I send a check for $5?

UB, I'll gladly chip in on the membership.
Since this is probably (very likely...) my fault (being a moderator I asked if this thread was appropriate...) I have sent Uncle Bill half the cost of the Gold Membership.

I see both sides of this one. I see Spark's side - I myself have paid for a Gold Membership to sell on BF, although moderators are allowed without it. I want to support the Forums.

I also (now) know a little more about why he posted as he did.

I leave this a little wiser, and hopefully a little less rash...:o

Your feelings, both those that prompted the initial posting, and the ones that you learned, do you credit.
