I am trying to obtain a genuine kukri or a Useable replica (for all outdoor jobs + hunting etc) I was reccomended the kukris from atlantic cutlery corp @ $25.99 with all documents etc. But I have had no luck with this company. I like in the uk so it is quite difficult to get good quality knives over like kukris over here. If you have any idea where to get a good kukri from please contact me. (not cold steel)

I believe that it was determined some time ago that none of Uncle Bill's Gorkha family members or friends had never seen one of those Indian "Army Issue" khukris in actual service. They are junk and a waste of money. Any of the real, Nepali khukris sold on these forums will serve you well and will be an investment that you will not regret. Be forwarned though, THEY ARE ADDICTING!!!

Yes you hit it right on the nose. H.I. khukuris are not copies or replicas, the are genuine top quality khukuri. You proubably could not get a better one if you went to nepal yourself, and i'm sure you would not get the guarentee that Bill offers. Don't rush and don't hesitate to ask any questions. If H.I. dosn't have a khuk that will please you, then you proubably don't need one.

Hello again.

What are the legalities of owning a khukuri in Britian? I recall a British newspaper article where they seached a guys home and found some khukuri's. The newspaper made it sound like it was illegal to own a khukuri.

Rusty: Thanks for posting the URL for Netsword Forum...I didn't know it existed until I read your post. Another forum to check...I have to figure out a way to automate...

I ship khukuris to the UK all the time with no problems so customs, at least, must not consider them illegal. I don't see how they could be with all the Gorhkhas both old, young, and retired plus Brits who served in Gorkha units around.
