Here is a Kukuri that I have had for a good number of years. I bought it from a fella here on the BF's years ago, used it once camping at the Pensic Wars and it was put away. Has not seen any use since and very light use when I did use it. Everything is nice and tight on it, very sharp almost 0 edge blade. 3/8" on the spine, 5.5" handle, almost a full 10" blade. Fuller runs down the blade to within an inch of the point on either side. Has gold fill on the design on either side and is marked NEPAL in capital letters. Comes with the little Karda and shakma I think they are called. The utility knife is pretty darn sharp too. Tight fitting sheath and the blade shows rub marks from removing from the sheath as of late cause I was admiring it.

You can also see a light cloudy hamon from the tempering process, kind of looks like a water fall, going down towards the edge. Hard to see but it is there. Blade has a high polish but with marrs from the sheath. Handle is solid with excellent patina. Very well made to say the least. If I remember correctly I think it is a villager style kukuri. Don't hold me to that though. Well balanced, and fast and it hits hard and again is pretty darn sharp. I'll post a pic when I get home this p.m. from work. SPF

Very pretty. Not sure what it is though. The text on the blade reminds me of older HI khuks but not the NEPAL part.

I agree with guruguru. The right side of the blade looks like Himalayan Imports but I've never seen one with NEPAL spelled out in block lettering.

Thanks Dirtbiker just realised I can see people's email address, couldn't see it before, maybe something to do with post count?

Email sent.

It looks like a 15" Sirupate. Pre 2005 since there is no makers mark. Some older blades did have "Nepal" engraved on them. I believe the Devanagari at the end of the sword of shiva will tell you which shop it was made but off top of my head I dont know which it is? Shop one or two?

The Devengari actually means Himalayan Imports (just the initials I assume).

The location might mean it is shop 1?

Not sure when they switched to the current system where BirGorgka is indicated by a sun symbol.

That's an old H.I. Khukri, I used to have one like it many years ago. 20+ year old if I had to guess. Congrats to the buyer.
