Here is Kumar, outside the shop holding one of the first 30 inch Kobras he has made. Those who have this knife on order will not be disappointed and if he does as well on the katanas as he has on this model we will have what we want. With advice from Bura and one of our "consultants", 65 year old kami, Krishna, the job went without a hitch.

I liked this khukuri a lot. At my age and in my condition the longer heavy models are not easy for me to handle. At 30 inches this one felt easy and light and had great manuverability.

Definitely a winner. That looks awesome. Not that it's in the budget or anything but, how much?

Mike

Wow. Looks big and fast. Aptly named.

Great pictures.

Glad to see you're one of the first back on-line Uncle Bill.

Just curious, but a blade as light and long as this has to sacrifice some of the strength and durability for which khukuris are traditionally known -- isn't that correct?

It's not going to be an all-day woodchopper. Then again, if you need something more machete-like for brush, jungle, whatever...this could be THE hot ticket.

What it really is, is a fighter from hell

.

I love it. Can't order right now, but...damn. It's kewl!

This is definitely not a prybar that cuts like Prakash's 3 pound 18 inch AK (what a beat that thing is!). This is more of a curved sword than anything. I would think martial artists into knives and swords would jump on this. Price is $175 -- light so shipping cost is not killing us on this one.

Khukuri FAQ

Talk about love at first sight... No, I can't afford it, but what the hell, who needs food? Please put me down for one of them

Oh man! I love it! What kind of a wait are we looking at for one?
Is it just me or does Kumar look like he means buisness?

Is "King Cobra" also a malt liquor?

Wow, It looks like my wife is not going to be happy I found this group...hahaha

. It's a good thing she likes knives too. She is from the Phillipines, and she grew up using jungle bolo's and the like, much like the Nepalese. I have decided the 18" WWII will be my first khukuri...as soon as monthly finances reach the necessary time...hahaha. Thanks again for the warm welcome...

The first edition of these King Kobras should be arriving soon. I'll get specs and post them. There is a lot of interest in this one and they will serve as a preview of sorts for the katana.

Khukuri FAQ

ooo nice. I would say id like one but I seem to be broke at the moment...how ever could that have happened?
frown.gif
and I dont even have a place to keep my small(er) khukri, where would this thing go? Id need a sword rack...hehheh

and tango: that was the model recomended to me for my first khukri... I like it.

The more I look at it, the cuter it gets. Of course (heavy hint incoming) a man who could make one of those could make an awesome yataghan...

Bill; can you give a rough idea of spine width and weight?

Looks like a great blade. I have an AK Bowie with the six pointed star signature. Outstanding work!

Was the sheath hard to make for such a long blade? This one should give the machette excellent competition in when cutting light foilage.

Will

Uncle Bill, this Khukuri looks awesome! Eventually I'll place an order with you for this. I need to get my taxes done first.
smile.gif
How long is the handle anyway, and the thickness of the blade?

First models should be here any day and I'll post specs and pix if I can get photopoint to working again.

I don't want to guess -- too much stuff in the shop and I can't remember all of it.

Khukuri FAQ

Bill, it is very nice, and has a very light look about it. I'm no big collector but each time you come out with a new kukri, there always impressive.

Then again, each time you come out with a slim profile kukri I think
"Boy, I'd like to stick a khanda/talwar guard with the extended elephant tail pommel on that."
