Thanks for the suggestions. I totally forgot the medicinal use and was focusing on home improvement stores because of the workshop use. I think I remember having to take some of that stuff as a kid now that I think about it. Hope my knives like it better than I did...

For what it's worth the main ingredient in Ballistol is mineral oil. If your a gun guy, you might already have some of that around. I've pretty much converted to it almost exclusively.
Works great on horn or bone and even conditions leather. Good stuff.
