my kumo had a problem with the sheath. it wouldnt go all the way in and wasnt very secure. i called spyderco cs and she said send the sheath in and they would replace it. about a week later i got a call from scott of scotts sheaths, 720 434 5604. he makes the sheaths for the kumo and was surprised i had the problem . i asked about the older style that came over the grip and he said that one would wear the grip and he redisigned it. he hadnt heard of any problems with the new design but would take care of it. after a long talk he said he would send some sheaths , which he did, to see if they worked and if they didnt i could send him the knife and he would make one that would be perfect. apperantly my kumo is a little long and one of the sheaths fit perfectly. i called him to tell him the good news and to return the unused sheaths. he said i didnt need to return them and was pleased that everything worked out. this is outstanding customer service.

now that i have three extra kumo sheaths i dont need if anyone has issues with theirs let me know and i will foreward them to you.

That's why I like Spyderco. They take care of their customers.
Email sent about sheaths.

Hi Arnold,

I'm glad that Scott sorted it out.

He also makes custom Boltaron (hi-line Kydex) sheaths.

Have a similar problem with the Kumo sheath. The wrapping on the knife keeps the sheath from fitting all the way on. Just took another look and will mod the sheath a little, maybe about .030". This will let the knife seat fully into the sheath.

Sheaths arrived, found one that worked better. Anyone else need a sheath??
If not I guess I can send them back to Spyderco.
