Jeff Perrin, the co owner of Esee knives recently did a colaboration with Blue Ridge knives. He designed a folder, a company in Taiwan is making it and Blue Ridge dealers are selling it.
They just visited the Outdoor Retail show in SLC the other week and then made a stop over in Idaho to visit the Rowen factory where "Their" knives are made. They work with a lot of people in the knife/tool/wilderness and survival industry. No one is buying them out.

I spend lots of time on the ESEE forum and this is news to me.... Mike and Jeff are frequent posters as well of course....
