Hey all!
I have begun making kaikens from Finish puuko blade blanks. I have been fond of mine, but I feel it is time to get one out there for some reviewing.
Rules are simple

No post limit. No spamming either, though. Post as many times as you like, but make posts with substance. Every post you make is another entry for you.

MUST, and absolutely MUST give me a review every week for a full month. After that, occasionally update me with questions or comments. I need to know how this product works in the field.

Must be a member since at least June this year. No sort of requirements on membership.

Winner gets to choose size and color scheme. Depending on the size and scheme, it might take a bit to get out. If you choose colors and a blade I have in stock, I can get it out quickly

Buyer will have their choice of leather sheath style and color

Lastly, have fun and lets see some comments. Pics of any sort are always appreciated.

Again, I DID NOT MAKE THE BLADE. I imported it from finland, sharpened it, cleaned up a bit, wrap it, and have a sheath made. THE BLADE ITSELF NOT MY WORK

I'm in, thanks! I've never seen anything like this before, I love the wrap.

I would be interested in participating as well. It looks similar to a Mora blade which I find super sexy. Currently my fixed blade selection is a 2" micro that I just made, a 5" China special in mystery stainless, and an 8" Ontario fighting knife. This one would be very useful as the others are very different in their roles.

Hey I'm in. I would love to get one of those bad boys. It can come with me on my guard duties and have many adventures together, heck we even have hunting season coming up so it may get some gutting action if the season is long enough to allow it. Recently I brought my fallkniven f1 to infantry school and had a blast using it for anything and everything. I'll find many uses for one of these.

A couple pics from training:

for the record, the f1 did amazingly well. Held it's edge well and did a great job in a myriad of tasks. It does get scratched up very easy though. The mix of dirt and crap in the zytel sheath and being banged around a lot over the course had it looking pretty rough by the end. I couldn't get many pics for obvious reasons and stupid me already sharpened up and cleaned up the blade so some of the effect is lost.

Nice job Ferahgo, Im in. Nice looking product.

It depends. I want to epoxy the para over para, but I am not sure how the twine would hold up

I'm in. From me, it would mostly see use around an office, and house doing everything from cutting open boxes, to slicing apples.
I'd also take it on the trails so it could see some woods, maybe to the fire pit in the back yard with my kid for a wood-work workout. Yeah, I could make this happen.

Thanks for the chance.

There are quite a few makers who use epoxy on twine and it seems to work dandy. I have a knife with jute twine epoxied (or it might be some other harder like lacquer), and it has held up wonderfully.

I'm in! thanks for the great saw. I'd be happy to give it a workout--from the kitchen to the fire pit to the hiking/camping trail! Good luck to all.

Im in, thank you for the opportunity. Would love to see what I can do with one of these on my Wicked Edge!

Cool! I'd like to try it out. Is it Carbon Steel? (non-stainless)

Have a couple Boy Scout campouts planned this fall with my sons, and this would be an ideal little fixed blade for that. Mainly, though, it would see kitchen work, as I am not allowed a fixed blade at work.

Count me in. The kwaiken style blade shape is my favorite, whether by Boker, or the CRKT otonashi / hissatsu, or the ZT 0452,...anything katana-esque. The wrap style fits perfectly and I agree about the epoxy to help with the longevity of the cord.
