Kydex for BK-62?

I know that sounds like blasphemy but I like more options than hanging it on my belt.

Is anyone making a Kydex sheath for the Kephart?

I agree about the quandary of if it Needs to be leather? haha
I was thinking of making one soon. I'll post it when I do. They are very easy to make (kydex, idk about the leather ones?)
I'm just daydreaming how/where I want to carry it now. I'm pretty set on horizontal. Just not sure if it's going to be @ 11 or 1? And idk yet if I want it canted..... Something to all sheath makers out There..... You all have nice pics of your products. Why not show them being worn??? There are a few sheaths I like that idk if they are even vertical or horizontal one? Geesh!

Actually a low power red dot on a levergun seems right in line with its effective range, hanging or no hanging. I already have a rail on it. :D
But, my 62 is very cozy where it is now. :p

62 just came in today.Im a lefty and I just couldnt make the beautiful stock sheath work for me. The knife is great, its so well balanced and comfy that I thought it was lighter than my 16, compared them in hand, the 62 is a little heavier, but I never would have bet on it. To look so simple, it begs to work and is outstanding in hand, screaming to carry horizontal. So, I put in an order to azwelke:thumbsup:. Ordered a couple pull the dots and I should be good to go!

Btw, I read a couple other members have the same issue. My scales are two-tone, one is dark walnut, and the other is like a med-natural. Anyway I can fix that with a quick trip to the hardware store tomorrow

Maybe hitting them with some boiled linseed oil might balance the colors out a bit.

In case anybody is having the same issue with one scale being considerably darker than the other...Just tried some dark walnut stain, two coats on the lighter scale and it matched up perfectly!

See.... If you buy more than one, you can swap scales around to match better.....haha that's what I did. :D

I finally made my sheath. I Had to because of the extra thickness.
CTB edition.....haha.

I turned a "frog" I believe it's called out of brass, and used O.D green kydex. Even though it's modern materials, I think it looks nice.

I don't like resheathing the knife into the direction of my body. That's why I didn't put belt loops on it. I use this knife for camp chores, often casual alcohol is involved. I feel safer if it's re-sheathed Away from my body!
I snap it into the sheath, then slide it into my waistband.
With food prep this is very fast, and convenient.

I carry a pistol This way (appendix carry) it's Very comfortable, and not being bound to belt straps allows the sheathed knife to shift and flow with my body movements. No jabs to the guy when I bend over, or sit. Even while driving. I'll answer any questions, if anybody has any. :)
where is the nearest shell garage

Really nice job on this. A slight lip might make it easier to pull the knife from the sheath. If you wanted one, you could still do it with a heat gun. Regardless, excellent work.

Seconds on adding a lip for your thumb to press against. Made a big difference on mine. Like the brass hardware.
Nice work!
