Kydex for Scrapper 5?

Hi, guys. I just picked up my first Busse/Swamprat/Scrapyard and I love it. The res-c handle is very comfortable but I'm wondering how it would hold up to a kydex sheath. I'm concerned that it might not be durable enough to withstand the repeated "in-out" of rubbing against the snug, hard kydex. Since the mudder handle is not a smooth continuous surface, the pressure/friction of the sheath will not be evenly distributed and therefore possibly wear down quickly (or even tear) the peaks of the handle that make contact with the kydex.... well, that's my corncern, anyway.

Can I get some opinions, experiences, etc. regarding this issue. Thanks for your help.

Lots of folks have used the mudder handles in kydex sheaths with no problems. Just make sure you get the sheath from a maker who knows what he's doing, and you will be fine.

I wouldn't be concerned one bit. Had a Scrapyard Guard for a while with a kydex sheath...no issue, ever.

(let me know if you're looking for a sheath - I'm just next door :))

I have several Scrapyards with kydex sheaths and there is no wear at all where the kydex meets the handle. Those mudder handles are really strong.

The Res-c handle is guarenteed for life too:thumbup:

Kydex and Res-C work great together. I get all my kydex done from Eric at On-Scene Tactical. Of course he lives only 40 minutes away from me....

I have been known to make one or two.

You could even go somewhere in this Forum & win one in a give away by some dude in Arizona:)

It won't hurt it, just make sure the areas of the sheath that it will contact are smooth. If they're rough it will scuff it some. Here's one I made and it works great for carry.
