Kydex glue, etc

I just read that long thread about kydex, and had to add a couple of my ideas:

An excellent glue that I use is "Plastic Welder" from Devcon. Extremely strong bonds to kydex. I even use it to glue on chrome plated belt clips! No rivets or bolts needed.

I have also started lining sheaths with felt, glued with Super 77 (3M). Works pretty well, but felt doesn't dry quickly if you get it wet, and I do have concerns over how long it will last.

Hi Dave....

Cool Head-Zup on the glue..

As far as lining a sheath with any type of material...

I highly discourage it...Long term problems out weigh the short term effects.

The felt liner,,can't be cleaned,, if it gets wet,,it will take forever to dry,,and on top of it all,,will actually hold dirt,,multiplying the problem 10 fold in a short period of time...

It's a great idea,,something that for sure needs to be worked on.. finding a material may be hard to do though...

Thanks..

Eric...
