so what's the best plce to buy these? i know can get them for other uses than kydex, and using the name kydex rivets somehow makes them worth about 10 times the price. Chicago Handbag usedto have them at a great price in bulk but i can't find their website anymore. any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks guys!

I've also ordered from knifekits. Good products and the black, from the small amount I've done, doesn't peel off as soon as you press them.

thanks guys. i was just looking for a better deal than what knifekits has, i know they're out there cheaper than what knifemaking supply places sell them for, just like kydex, and counterbores and all that stuff.

does anyone know the industry standard term for these? might be a little easier to look up. thanks again! i'll keep at it

random google search - seems like a good site

I have an industrial fastener supplier nearby that sells them.
They are also widely used in upholstery.

Before buying a huge quantity - check that they work for you - i have had bad experiences when they are not matched perfectly to the setting dies used.

thanks a ton man, these are the only guys i could find any good info from on their site. i think it might be a big minimum order, but i guess i oculd find a local place that sells their product.

they do have some pretty good info on size and specs on their web site though. looks pretty good. thanks again man!

Would that happen to be Fastenal? If so what is the part numbers for those rivets?

I have a few Fastenal stores close by, but …
I was referring to Spaenaur
Their headquarters is just a 45 minute drive for me.
Spaenaur is a supplier for Fastenal

Their website is kinda new and the product search is really useless, but they have a great printed catalogue.
It’s perfect to browse and see what specialty fasteners there are and what sizes they are available in. In terms of the folder size screws in sizes 0 to 4, stainless, Torx, http://www.microfasteners.com/ (although can’t find this on their site right now)
is better, but Spaenaur is a stocking warehouse of every other fastener imaginable. Including a lot of those sold on knifekits.com

It’s in Canada. They do ship to US, but you must have something similar or bigger there.
