I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not, but I didn't see a better place.

I have a Tramontina 14" bolo that I need a sheath for. I was thinking about trying to make my first homemade kydex sheath for it. However, I quickly realized that the shape of the blade would seem to pose a problem. The tip of the blade is the tallest point, meaning that if you molded the kydex around the knife, it would be stuck inside and it would be impossible to get it out. I was just wondering how one would go about making a kydex sheath for a bolo like this. Thanks for any suggestions.

If that is your REAL name!!!

Here ya go

ready?
ya sure?
ok here we go!!

lay out the tram on a large piece of cardboard

trace around the knife using a black sharpy or heavy lead pencil

take a compass at the 1" mark and trace around that

still with me??

kewl

OK

Now it gets a tad tricky and where ya should use cardboard to practice with...YOu need to find where it wont draw correctly and mark the line...This will tell ya where to stop putting eyelets on the front of the sheath

make sense??

If I can help anymore shoot me a Pm or e-mail me azraelsleather@netscape.com bro

Good luck!
