Got a super tight fit and it snaps in secure with no movement at all.

For a 20$ press I'm happy with it. Make sure if you go tho route to stand on the press at first when tightening to get as tight a fit as possible

Thanks. It's neoprene. At least the packaging says so. Actually worked better than I expected for being so thin also. Turned out a really tight fit

Ah, those mats are typically EVA so I just assumed. Neoprene is what I use. Never bought any of the purpose specific stuff.

I found an old thread on bf and they recommended the neoprene floor mats from harbor freight. Was only 10 bones for 4 of them. I was skeptical at first for the thickness is only about 1/2 inch but was impressed. I will eventually get the thermafoam but for now ( this is only my second attempt at kydex) this was perfect for my apartment work shop I have.

Here is the "work shop". Small table and few slots for tools and equipment.

For now it helps tons

i see a lot of things on your bench, but no tape....did you taped the blade any?

Yep in a conventional oven for about 10 min at 350. The kydex should have instructions on the packing. Make sure not to go above 350 or you may burn the kydex

Over heating and burning kydex = very very bad fumes (kill you kind) be careful.

I finally had the time today to make my first Kydex sheath. I chose my James Terrio custom as I use the knife a lot and find when I carry a blade in plastic I use it even more. Pictures are worth a 1000 words so here is my project, it was fun and didn't take long at all.

Here is a sheath I completed yesterday for my Fred Carter. This is a heavy blade and I wanted to make sure it stayed in the sheath even when carried horizontally so brought the Kydex up high on the bolster.
