Kydex vs Leather

Yeah, now that is a damn nice sheath.

Just hope they don't sell it only with the knife like their RAT Pack.

The leather sheaths are classy and sexy. They take on a character of their own with age. However, leather attracts and retains moisture, not good for steel. Never store a knife in a leather sheath, especially in a humid environment.

Kydex is durable and pretty much indestructible. But kydex is molded for one knife while leather sheaths can be used for multiple knives of similar shape and size.

I have always been a fan of leather sheaths, but recently turning to kydex since I live in a humid state and I can store my knives in a kydex sheath without the worry of rusting.

1. Leather
2. Nylon over a simple kydex liner
3. Kydex is loud.

I think the liners inside Nylon are also made of Nylon. I could be wrong but the ones I have had are Nylon liners. Which is nice as it's softer on the blade finish.

Also, I believe if you buy extra Nylon Liners for your Nylon sheath, You can mold each liner to fit individual knives of roughly the same length. Just switch out the liners each time you want to use a different knife.

Nylon sheaths are bulky, but I like the pouch, carry options, and cool looks.
