Kydex Water Bottels

i think the OP is on to something here....not so much a waterbottle, but a KYDEX holster for it would be sweet!

HAH! It's working already! PDE induced a thought of a potential secondary project by tossing something out there for discussion. Get another good brain on it and away she goes.....

Bushman5, May I express my thanks for your positive reinforcement to the OP's post by making you a Kydex water bottle holster of your design?

perhaps i blinked, but i haven't seen anyone posting any homebrew Kydex threads to make the materials at home.

Chewed bubblegum and black spray paint. That's how I do it anyway. :p

so you're still stuck buying something. and compared to a stainless or ti container, you can't cook in it, compared to a plastic Nalgene container it will be somewhat brittle and crack easily. (easir than Nalgene at any rate)

True on all accounts. A Nalgene bottle is like $10 bucks or less right? A 12x12 sheet of kydex is $7 plus shipping plus cement plus some kind of snap on cap to fit to it plus a rubber seal for said cap plus a buttload of time to fit it all together and hope it works. In the end you end up with a bulkier, clunkier setup with a lot of time and money in it.

As for the water bottle holder, that's not a bad idea. Wouldn't even need eyelets. Just wrap in a truncated circle and bend the bottom in to form a slight rim. Leave a G-loop on top or a flattened mount on the back and presto.
