My son Kyle has a new web site, but we will be posting a few of his available piece here. His site is; http://kylehansonknives.wordpress.com/

Here's one he recently finished...

6″ blade made of W2 tool steel with a 62 Rockwell hardness. Knife is 10 3/4″ overall with a full, tapered tang.

Comes with a beautiful sheath made by the extremely talented Paul Long. There will be no included Bill’s custom case as a result.

Handle material is stabilized Koa wood.

$650 Summer Special $450 Sold Thanks!

The Summer Special is a heck of a deal! A knife like this w/Paul Long sheath from me would be at least $1250. We are trying hard to keep the prices of Kyle's knives as low as possible to get them out there in the hands of collectors & users.

We accept Paypal and Money Order.

If interested please contact Kyle at khansonknives@gmail.com or me at info@sunfishforge.com or post here.

Don, wish I was more help here but I don't know what drives some of the quick sales on these forums. I read this 'for sale' forum usually twice a day. Just watching trends and trying to figure it out..........................and I can't. I see some makers sell three knives in two hours, sometimes that shocks me if they're actually getting the prices they list. It's interesting to see what value some put on certain things.

Then you have knives like this: W2 steel, false edge, killer hamon, koa handles, tapered tang............AND a Paul Long sheath!!??!! That's worth the original price you listed ($650) from most any halfway decent maker all day long. At $450, it's an absolute steal. And with Kyle's level of workmanship, it's bordering on insane.

I know there are serious, educated collectors that peruse this forum. Must be summertime blues for sure. I see knives sold almost every day here for prices that aren't even half the value that this is for $450.

Again, I'm sorry that doesn't help you much. I sure don't understand it.

Maybe you need to use more catch phrases and buzzwords and ridiculous statements and claims to create self induced hype. That seems to work well here. ;)

Sorry for the long post in Kyle's sale thread. Best of luck to you guys. It's a beautiful knife.

I'll take it.

I can't believe this lasted at $450

Thanks man! I've been trying to figure this one out for two days, figured it'd go in minutes? Glad you had the chance though! I'll get it ready to ship and await your payment. Thanks again!

John,
Thanks for the insight, it does help. I don't sell much here, but have sold some, off and on for years. Just don't remember it being this slow. Kyle is new and doesn't have a huge following, so I help.

I also make sure his knives are made and heat treated right, before they leave the shop. That should be worth a little. ;)

I want to offer another of his here, but I might just wait a little while? :)

. If it's anything like the quality of this one, it deserves a good home.

Maybe just post it to show it off, and toss up the idea of finding a home for it. That way it's not a sales thread, but it may spark some interest.

Same quality, but a little fancier. :)

Wow. Great bolsters. I saw that top one on the website.
That's some impressive wood you've got there too. 5400 years was it?

Yep, 5460 year old bog Oak from Europe. Natural color, cool stuff. Kyle just put a special price on it, $850. Thanks!

Man, that's a great price for such materials. I like a more simple look, and to use my pieces, but as a collectors piece, that's hard to beat.

I'm in love. The steel... Just incredible

I NEED a 3.5" version of this to carry.

Thanks so much for the beautiful knife.

I hope a scaled down version is something we can work out.

An edc version, if he's willing to make me one, is going to kick a few nice pieces of my belt.

Even at 6" blade, , it carries so comfortably.
A 3 5" would be my ideal edc both aesthetically and functionally

T, glad you got it and like it!

Kyle can and has done quite a few 3.5-4.5" EDC type knives. Most of the knives he's made aren't on his site. I carry one daily he made with a 3" W2 blade, love it!

Thank you!
