KYLE ROYER - Fifth Mastersmith Knife

Jon, you are a lucky man having that knife. Seeing those macro close up's makes it all the more awesome!!

Hi Jon,

I'm very very glad you got it in okay today! :) Cool close up shots! Yip, that there steel is tight and that's the way I like it. ;) I hope it will give you excitement whenever you look at it and that it will serve you well as long as you have it. It has been a pleasure!

Have a great day!

Yes, that is a W layer damascus piece I made the pommel nut out of. I wanted something with a little more aggressive pattern on it for the nut. :)

Cool close-ups! Something tells me that Kyle's pattern looks tight even at the molecular level.

Thanks all for the comments. I'm really liking this knife. When I get a proper display for it, it should be fun switching sides from time to time. Kyle will make a sheath for it in the future if I want, I'll post when the time comes.

i asked Kyle about the pattern of that blade and he kinda lost me after telling me that he 4 wayed it the second or third time. LOL. Gorgeous knife.

Hmm, Joe, now you guys have me curious! Thats not even English to me! :)

Yeah I really couldn't tell what was going on with the steel when I saw the original photo. It was exciting to get this and really see whats going on up close in there.

Hope you don't mind me bringing this thread back. I was playing with this knife and my camera some more last night.
