L.L. Bean Woodsman 102

Wow, that's wild, I was just thinking to myself yesterday I wish Buck would make a stacked leather handled fixed blade!

Have they done this before?

The stacked leather 119s were made for Cabela's (quantity ?) in the early 1990s and for Cutlery Shoppe (Boise, ID)(250 Pcs I think) about 1996. There is also a stacked leather 914. FYI.

Did Buck ever make any with the beveled leather disks??? Like the military combat knives/bayonets???

I've been looking at the LL Bean Bucks for a while - I really like the look, but in real life I think the original phenolic handles are more durable. The leather washers remind me of my father's USN Ka-Bar and some of the old Marbles, though, and it's a good association.

That 119 convinced me to get the 105 Hkingdom.
I will pic it and have comments in my DEC BOTM thread.

I'd like to point out that L.L. Bean stands behind their products completely. I believe their philosophy is that the sale is not final until the goods are worn out and the customer is still satisfied. You know, that really does surpass the Busse guarantee in some ways, doesn't it?

Goose, if you have not already all ready made your order...you may want to read the detailed description of that 105's handle material:eek:  . Preston

So the 102 is stacked leather and the 105 is Synthetic laminate?
That seems strange to me...

Jim, that's the way I'm understanding the description...I was interested in the 105 and almost pulled the trigger.

Goose, let us know when you get yours:D. Preston
