For some reason, every blade I grind lately has been a recurve. I used to think that they were a pain to sharpen, but I am getting used to it.

This is a fairly large knife. The blade length is 6" (tip to handle) and the handle is 4 3/4".

It has a sharpened swedge, so check local laws.

The handle is natural canvas micarta. I kind of like the finish on it. I decided to fine sand it and buff it. I think it turned out well.

The blade was clay coated, and there is a hamon, but it doesnt really pop out all that boldly. I etched it, but fine sanded off most of the effect. I didnt want the blade to look so dark.

It comes with a kydex sheath that has my own version of a Tek-lok. The belt loop can be turned 90 degrees for horizontal carry if so desired.

Price - $140 shipped.

Wow that's two for two great knives and sold quick

Dr. D how come you didn't pick one up? If you like Matt's design's the knives are well made as any I have.

I am very happy with the two Bailey's I have.

Hell-It's not like I didn"t want to.:)

But I need to sell off a few to make room:(

--Just noticed you were referring to someone else-sorry.

I have some more on the bench, ready for different stages. What do you mean by a half guard?

erm.. how do I describe it.. half guard as in a hilt of sorts but only for the part where the fingers go round the knife, not protruding from the spine portion of the knife, but rather the cutting edge of the knife.

Basically something that will stop your fingers from slipping forward if you were to do a thrusting motion with the knife.

Hope I have described it in a way which everyone understands. Sorry about the lack of technical terms to describe it..

This knife has shipped.

I understand what you mean by a half guard. I have done some like that in the past. I will have to sketch it up and see how it looks.

Matt,
I love making recurves too. They are great for cutting rope. Not as difficult as I first thought. But, it's just what you get used to. Keep up the good work!

Wow, I really love this blade. How would one go about placing an order for one of these beauties.

Thank You
Matt

CoverBlade I can answer that one from experience, Matt very easy to work with getting a knife made, I have 2 of his, both I'm very happy with.

I have kydex and leather sheath from him both solid and well made I tend to use the kydex sheaths 95 % of the time, very light weight and hold and release the knife perfectly for me.

After seeing this Matt will probably email you

Coverblade, I sent you an email about ordering.

Thanks Spearz, for the nice words

Matt

I got the last one Matt made and I can tell you it is a really nice blade, I like the vine style file work on this one even better than mine. Good job Matt.
