Thanks for the comments guys, all of the encouragement is helpful in pushing me along so thank you. It feels really great to be taking the next step as a knife maker in making more complicated pieces, but man will I be glad to have this one done!

Now on to today's/ yesterday's progress:
Time for file work on the frame, for this piece I thought it would be better to go simple so that it doesn't start to get too busy.
And after etching and bluing it is on to the dry fit:
And then seeing how everything looks together:
Then after the bronze sheet finally arrived onto the shield, first to find the middle:
Then slotting and fitting the shield:
Roughing in the oval:
Then onto file work and sanding:
And if all goes well tomorrow it will be pinned together and ready for leather work. Thanks for following along everyone!
