Timothy La Combre Ti Slipjoint - $215
I recently received this direct from the maker. It has only been carried once or twice in a leather slip sheathe and has not been used. For those who are not familiar, Tim is a South African knife and pen maker that puts out some really cool stuff at very reasonable prices. This knife has been carried in a leather slip but has not cut anything or been sharpened. It is 3.5" closed with contoured satin titanium covers, an RWL-34 blade with a hand-rubbed satin finish, and has a strong pull. There are a few hairline scuffs on the blade and handle that came from the maker.
Nick Birdvis (@birdvisknives) Modded Boker Tech Tool - SOLD
For those of you who don't know, Nick Birdvis (@birdvisknives on Instagram) does some really cool modded production slipjoints that he sells through Instagram. I bought this directly from him a couple months ago for $160.
This is a Boker Tech Tool 1 that has been heaviliy modded by Nick. The new covers consist of coconut shred micarta with black canvas micarta bolsters over blue G10 spacers on top of the factory milled steel liners, all topped with Nick's own wing shield. The handle has been reshaped to make a cleaner, more flowing design, and the glass breaker has been removed. The 12C27 blade has been given a hand-rubbed satin finish, a half-stop, and Nick has added his maker's mark.
There are a number of hairline scratches on the blade and backspring that were present when I received it from Nick. I imagine that I've added a few myself through carry and use. This is a super light, really fun knife that is perfect for someone that wants something unique without paying custom prices. It's not seeing the use it deserves, so I want to pass it along to someone that will more thoroughly enjoy it.
