Have you all seen this? Go to Knifecenter.com and check out their news page. Look at the new Smith and Wesson Badge knife. I wonder where they got the idea for that?

Without investigating the link, I predict this is simply another reason to despise S&W.

WOW!!!

What an original and innovative design!!!! Too bad they didn't come up with it. Like there weren't already enough reasons to despise s&w.

What unmitigated gall!
Hope Fred P. & Ernie E. sic a pack of lawyers on 'em. Or just have Fred & Ernie show up for "negotiations"...

Why, that design is COMPLETELY different. The S&W has scales on the handles. The LaGriffe doesn`t! See? Nice and legal, like!

Yeah- the S(uffering) & W(aste) model can apparently rescue hostages- (HRT)
Pity that functionality wasn't built into the original Perrin or EKI line...
(where's the sarcasm button?)

S(windlers) & W(easels). Sue 'em Ernie! I heard that some guy got a $3 billion, yes billion, award from Philip-Morris in a lawsuit, so juries are sympathetic right now.
Maybe we should all e-mail S&W and convey our disgust.

The Only good thing I can say about S&W is that at least now they are US owned, but we'll see if it changes anything.

As mad as this one makes me, I am madder still at the EXACT copies they made of some of Darrell Ralph's designs (Krait).

But, they are now working under the protection of the feds, so why not steal from a little guy?

Somehow, this does not surprise me! The people at S&W have truly lost there minds... At least when they tried to rip off Glock with that Sigma junk they changed things a bit...However if they go under it becomes a huge victory for all those anti gun/knife people

I don't think Stinky Wusses were the first to copy the La Griffe.
Columbia River comes to mind, with their Bear Claw.

(Don't get me wrong, I am by no means defending Sleezy Wannabees, I just want to fling the wrath around)

Russ Kommer had designed the bear claw for CRKT. I haven't handled a lagriffe yet, so I don't know how to compare it.

One weird thing about this knife is, that from a little finger pressure on the blade, it will flex.

(and the hole is too damn small)

Mr. Tim Toilet-
Do yourself a big favor- & go get a LaGriffe. It's one of the hardest knives to put down when you first pick it up.
And NO flex... You'll love it.

Correct me if I am wrong but the S&W knife in question looks more like a copy of the Columbia River Claw than the Emerson La Griffe.

Yeah, I should get a lagriffe, but I want to handle one first. Bad thing is, that it is kind of embarrasing to get your fingers stuck in the fingerholes.

Done it a couple of times already.

Timmy,

Trust us, you will like the LG! It is much neater in person than pictures can show. Though I had the opportunity to handle one before I bought it, I can tell you that you won't make a mistake by buying one sight unseen. It is a great little knife, and should you find you do not, for some reason, like it, you can quickly sell it on these forums.
