La Griffe sheath

Just wanted to put in a plug for Emerson Knives. I recently bought 2 of them on the internet. One came with a terrific kydex sheath with 2 holes that were as far away from each other as possible and a black chain for carry. The other came with a smaller kydex sheath with only 1 hole and a black cord for carry. This makes the knife turn around very easy when you bend over and then when you reach for your knife it is not indexed properly. I called Emerson knives and talker to Peggy. She told me to send the old model back and she would exchange it for the new model. I sent it back last thursday and am awaiting my new one. I think this is great service. And being a neck knife person I think these La Griffe knives are the best. Very Very bad. Thanks again, Peggy.

Well, I've got the older style sheath then... Compared to the new sheath, could I just add my own two holes near the top edge of the sheath? Seem's to have enough room for them. And how much bigger is the new style compared to the old?
Thanks

Kdarmy, It might be possibly for you to put 2 holes in the extreme corners but mine did not seem to have room. And yes this new sheath is about 3/8 inch wider than the old one.But by being wider and having the holes in the very corners it makes the sheath lay very flat on your chest and does not print at all. The chain helps here also as there are no bulges around your neck or where it is attached to the sheath itself. Also I have that when I wear paracord around my neck people seem to notice. But no one ever notices the chain as it is very small and lots of people wear them. Also the chain would break away if someone grabbed it and tried to choke you, unlike the paracord. Overall the new sheath has much better quality than the old one.The chain, sheath, and the rivet holding it together are all black. All the corners are rounded off and the knife fits perectly, unlike the old model sheath. Hope these comments help. By the way the La Griffe is a very wicked knife.

I just drilled mine with two new holes!...I used a 1/8 drill, and its just the size for my chain to pass through. There was more than enough room for them.

It does help keep the griffe from turning as much.

My fears for it turning were unfounded. At first I drilled 2 holes near its corners and looped it with paracord. I found that it turned equally as easy if not more easy than the single hole method. I eliminated the ball chain all together as it tends to "stay" when the unit turns unwantedly. But with the paracord and single hole method the unit does indeed "turns" back to its original desired position!

Question: are you looping it thru "correctly" with the single hole method?
