For Sale: Brand new 100% handmade Damascus fixed blade knife. Great for a user or display piece.
Blade: Damascus steel, overall length is about 5 7/8" with a 3 1/8" blade. The knife is signed and dated with month and year I made it 4/06
The fileworked damascus full tang blade was cut and shaped from Craig Barr damascus billets made of 1095 and 15n20. It is shaped and surface ground to 220 grit, 2 flat ground bevels grinds, hand sanded at 220, 400, 600 and 1200 grit before heat treating and fast oil quench. Then resanded and buffed before acid etching. It is heat treated and tempered to a Rockwell 57 to 58.
Handle: Scales are stabilized lacewwood that are gorgous. These scales have been sanded to a 1200 grit and buffed to a smooth finish. There are a few natural color variations in the wood. The scale are held with mosaic pins.
Sheath: Elephant hide hand stitched sheath.....third sheath I have ever made so no laughing.
