If you arent yet tired of all the Laconico buzz, and explorer pics lately, I gotta share this.
I cant do more for Rays work then was written in TK magazine. It was a very well written review of a west coast bladesmith.
Matthewdanger has also wrote a few gleaming well thought out threads on Rays work.
I came off duty this morning, and was in a pretty big hurry to get home, as my wife called me yesterday, and said I had a box from Laconico arrive. I was stoked, and the rest of the shift DRAGGED on.
She is good about torturing me with this kinda news. Sadist........

Well I opened it up, and inside the well packed box was my Laconico Explorer. The last blade of the year for me. I was in AWE
This thing is a beast. What really struck me was that this knife handles like one that isnt 1/4in thick. His tall grinds, and wonderfull convex edge are amazing. Attention to detail is well thought out and executed. Contoured handle feel wonderfull in hand. This thing is a beaut. Simplistic, yet has an unmistakable charm.
Matthewdangers pics of his wonderfull blade collection from Ray, first exposed me to this model. I had to have one. I instantly emailed Ray, who was kind enough to make me one. I have emailed Ray back and forth a few times prior to ordering, and he is a very nice guy, with a great bussness sense. You can tell he is in this for the right reasons. Very customer orientate, and a pleasure to deal with.
I was so consumed with this blade, that it even is obvious in the knife I designed that JK put together for me. The Scout. Which in its lines, you can see its very similar to this model, yet very differant.
Well I have the explorer, and I will tell ya, This will not be the last Laconico blade to come my way. Check him out, if you can get one. GET IT!
This one has a spec ops combat master sheath inbound for it. I might see some chuddybear leather in its future as well.
For now, its riding in tactical cardboard.
Enough, heres some pron
