Ladder Pattern Hunter Utility with Chakte Viga

Ladder pattern Hunter Utility with 350 layer 1095 15N20 Damascus. Silicon Bronze fixtures with red and white spacers. The handle is stabilized Chakte Viga. This is a very rare wood I can no longer find with good figure. It will get a real deep red/orange. The OAL length of this knife is 8.5"

The blade has been etched deeply and black parkerized, then sanded lightly with 2500 grit. This leaves the Parkerizing in the valleys and provides a bit of extra corrosion resistance.

Thanks for the link. I should have been a bit more clear. I can find the plain material but not the highly figured stuff. This handle is not nearly as intense as some of my others. When you get it in the light it has a catoyance not seen on many woods.

Just to give you all an idea of the figure, here are some pics of other projects

It is difficult to capture in a photo. But the depth of the figure is killer. As you can see, the wood is almost yellow when first shaped. It patina's to a deep rich red orange in time.
