Here is one that I finished a couple weeks ago but just got the sheath done last night. It's 1084 and 15n20 in a laddered w's pattern. The blade is ~9" and ~14.5" overall. The guard is twisted w's and the pin a domed stainless. The sheath is W&C with pig skin lining and Damascus stud. It's about a little under .25" at the ricasso with a good bit of distal taper. Balance is right under my mark.

I would be happy to answer any questions I can.
Thanks for looking.

Cody: This is an impressive piece of work and I'm impressed! This is a $1300 bowie at a bargain basement price.

That's a giveaway at that price. This is super nice Cody.

I'll take it, but only if you have soldered the guard to blade juncture.
Edit: I would pay to have the guard soldered, if you are able.

The guard is JB Welded to the blade. Soldering Damascus would be tough to do, and make look right. At least I haven't found a way to do it. The JB weld is really only there for a seal. It is a drive on fit. If there was a way to solder, I would be almost impossible to do after the handle was on. Solder need about. 400 degrees to flow, and the epoxy for he handle starts to fail a little over 200 degrees.

I know that there are lots of folks that like a soldered guard, and so do I, but feel that it isn't needed. If that's what floats your boat, that's fine. I won't be able to solder this one for you. I hope that this isn't a problem for you, but if it is, I wish you well. I do stand behind my work. If one of my knifes fail doing something it was intended for, I will fix or replace it.

I hope to do business with you, but understand if you choose to pass on this one. If you would like to continue this conversation in private, you can email me at hofsommerforge at gmail.com.

I understand, and will have to pass on this one. I asked on the off-chance solder was possible. But for that, this knife really appeals to me. Few knives in my collection lack solder and finger guards which I hold to be essential in working knives. I also wish you well.
