Hi all this is one just finished. Forged 1084/15n20 laddered W's damascus blade. Sambar stag handle. Guard is stainless silver. Spacer is Desert Ironwood Burl, copper and black g10. This knife is through tang construction with nut covered by the Desert Ironwood Burl butt cap. Thanks to all for checking it out and let me know what you think.

Best Regards, Burton Harruff

Really high class. Quite a mix of materials, many times such a list will look awkward on a knife but in this case it's tasteful and harmonious. The steel is off the chain! What really caught my eye is the sheath, though. I'm assuming that's your work too. Bravo for keeping your leather work apace with your knife work. I like the apparently tooled ostrich-looking overlay-ish effect. Care to elaborate?

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Jason the butt cap has 4 - 1/6" stainless silver pins (top, bottom, left and right) that go about 3/8" of an inch into the stag then it is epoxied on. I had a heck of a time getting it back off before it was epoxied on and was just press fit on.

Salem thanks for the compliments. The sheath is my work as well. The faux "overlay" is a stamp that I got from Tandy. I saw another maker (forget exactly who) who was using this technique. I am not sure of the number of the stamp but I will see if I can get it.

Absolutely beautiful! I really like the butt cap you made. Very nice.

Very nice. Ain't those crushed W's fun when you remember which way you pressed the last time that you folded? :D

Burton, that thing is great all around. The sheath is top notch also. Great job, it may have inspired me to take a crack at some antler.

Really classy hunter!!!

I also love the color/material combinations.

You're really coming along.

And that sheath is stupid nice. :D

That's a beautifull knife!
I like the ironwood cap. I think it looks much more suiting then a metal one

Dang. She sure is purrrrrrdy. Great lines, proportions, textures and contrasts. VERY well done. Would love to put my hands on that one.

I am not a real Damascus "knut" like most folks but I have to say that piece is awesome!

I especially like the way the materials came together!

The use of the Ironwood as a cap, well that is the coup de grâce of the whole knife, IMO!:D
I have a feeling you may be often imitated on that one!
