I would like my wife to be a little safer when she is out. She does not share my interests in knives, in fact she has a difficult time understanding my love for them.
But I still want her to have one too. I have seen a pink Spyderco Cricket that would be perfect for her, but they are hard to come by and are a bit pricey. A stainless one would probably good to. I have seen a pink Spyderco Jester for a great price, but they don't come with clips.
Are there any other feminine knives you guys have in mind?

I'd say go with the SS Cricket. My girlfriend who does not like knives has EDC'd a SS Cricket for a year now. Her female roomate wanted a knife too then, so I got her a SS Dragonfly.

If not the SS cricket, maybe a Benchmite I or II.

Both the SS Cricket and Benchmite II can easily engraved, not sure about the Benchmite I.

If you want her to be safe, a good flashlight to blind the bad guy or a whistle to attract attention, would be better than a tiny knife she doesn't know how to use.

Light him up, blow the whistle, kick him in the shin, run like hell. Who wants blood all over the place?

Definitely get her a keychain knife or SS Cricket for utility though.

I'll echo Esav's comments. Buying a "non-knife person" a knife for self-defence is a bad idea. If - God forbid - she does become involved in a confrontation, it just means that there will automatically be a knife involved; one which she is unwilling to use. The other party might not be...

If she wants a utility knife, my wife loves her purple Benchmade Mini-Griptilian.

DELICA

Women even like the name, because it is delicate like them. Besides if they get sick of it, you get an extra knife that you may actually like to use.

I would go with a leatherman micra for her keychain along with the flashlight. In addition get her some fox labs mace for personal security.

get her something she would use for SD, I agree about giving a Jester/small pocketknife for utility though. Even some pocket scissors would work.

I bought my wife a jester and a red ladybug for general utility. She keeps one in each purse and loves them. I going to get her a dragonfly next, and calypso jr when the new ones come out.

I'd think about picking her up a Surefire E2E and a Spyderco Merlin/Matriach/Civilian. Slashing madly at the throat or a limb that is grabbing her to gain distance to run tends to be an instinctive thing. Especially with some training. I'm not sure how far down the path of self-defense you can guide her though. That'll be up to her to decide. Some can't bring themselves to do the deed.

Good luck and your a good man to prepare your wife for the harsh realities of life. She should see it as a sign of true love. :D

Oh yeah, once she gets skilled, trained and comfortable with the flashlight and knife...time to introduce the firearm. Baby steps. ;)

I bought a number of Gerber all stainless steel knives [ Silver Knight] with flat handles . These are perfect for engraving .I gave them out as gifts each I engraved with simple designs that had meaning to the recipient !!!.They were well received.
