Never thought of the Ladybug as a military knife, but there it is with a CAGE number. It's cool, in an odd way.

What alloy are the screws made of? I've wanted a salt with screw construction for years.

I saw this on cutlery lovers youtube channel. Checked it out on countycomm, said it was upgraded to having torx instead of being pinned contruction .. are all the ladybug 3's or ladybug salt models going to have this construction upgrade??? I went ahead and ordered one from countycomm. It'll be my first ladybug

From what Sal said a while ago, all the unlined FRN models are gradually being switched over to screws. Obviously, your best bet at the moment for getting a knife that has them is a model like this, that was never built with pins.

That's great! I can't wait to see native with screwed construction

Can anyone tell me what the writing on the blade means. CAGE with a bunch of #.

I believe it's the government contract number. County comm does a lot of government contracts and then sells the surplus. a few of their other products have CAGE numbers on them as well.

Thanks I figured that it had something to do with gov.but I just wondering if CAGE stood for something.
I didn't know either until I read this, over on the Spyderco Factory Forum...

Welcome to the governmental alphabet soup. The US DOD's DLA uses CAGE codes as part of its CCR system. :D :D :D Although primarily a DOD system, other federal agencies use CAGE codes as well. "CAGE" stands for "Commercial And Government Entity" and it is a five-character identification number that identifies government contractors registered in the Commercial Contractor Registration system. The number on the blade presumably identifies Spyderco.

I just scooped up an Orange and Brown Ladybug in a trade with a buddy who had 2 of each. Woo-hoo

Nice trade Andre!! Big fan of the CC exclusives!!! You got 2 nice sharps there my brother.

I managed to pick up an orange one from an out of the way little knife place that seems to keep finding new old stock 'in the back'....I wish they'd let me dig around in 'the back' to see what else they have!!!! I was surprised that they had a CC exclusive as part of their inventory. I'm thinking maybe they took it in on consignment or trade...anyways its NIB in every way and I couldn't be happier with this little knife. Cool looking and versatile.

I have an extra tan one for trade that I will be putting in the proper WTT category as opposed to this thread but since we were discussing CC exclusives I figured I'd mention it.

I now have 11 Ladybugs. The fact that the last 2 are linked to DOD inventory and a "nameless agency", how cool is that. I still wonder though, CIA, NSA, why is this such a big secret. Nevertheless, i am really stoked with my acquisition.
