You're right, it' s an Opi de luxe! But made only to order.

@Will you know, 9cm knives are quite rare, except Pradels. Average length is rather 10,5cm.

I wanted to get the little one last year, I mailed and phoned them but for some obscure reason they never have any at hand. I can try to phone again, which one is in your focus?

Don't think so, anyway, I'm French! I think they have few knives and want to keep them for sale at the shop. Unfortunately they're quite far from me to go and visit them!
It is a nice lockback, designed by one of the best knifemakers.

He designed the Alios and made the first batch, but now I don't think he' s still involved (except for royalties, maybe).
You can contact him, don't know if he speaks English, but he has been twice best worker in France, something few acchieved already, if any. He is a top notch cutler, and prices and delay are accordingly high and long. IMHO with Mathieu Herrero he is world class for his work (his way of life being typically country bon vivant, very open for a chat about knives or good food).

While we're talking faces, this is Yann Nominé, same place, same year. This does not make justice to his skill.


And Mr Ohta (in blue) another humble person, certainly equal to his skills. Unfortunately he had not brought his US patterns.
