I am new to the Forums, and this is my first post. Wish I had found this site sooner. I am selling my Laguiole Folder. I purchased this knife at the Laguiole factory when I visited France about 15 years ago. This will sound dumb, but I cannot remember if I purchased the Mammoth Tusk Handle, or another type of Horn. It is incredibly hard material, so it is also possible it is ram horn. I just remember being completely obsessed with the mammoth tusk knife. It cost around 400 Euro at the time. The handle base pieces cracked off while it was just sitting in its box. I have always thought it was caused by the incredibly dry air in Colorado where I lived, and possibly just a weak point in the material. No idea, but nonetheless disappointing. I always planned on repairing it, but I never got around to it and have lost the pieces. It would make sense when it was repaired to put a butt bolster on it. I would like to get $600 for the knife, given its condition. Let me know if anyone has any questions, or if I am just way out there on price.
