Laid up and bored. I was warned about Busse (and guns).

I'm not familiar....?
also I don't think I've ever drank it cold? Lol

Drink it cold when it’s good you sip and don’t dilute with ice.

Lol..... I must be weird, I just sip it warm..... A small glass.
Maybe three oz. Or so....

Well, you could always start a "if you could only have 42..." thread.

Stunning collection 'ya got there!!

I honestly can’t pick. It seems I carry the Sus Scrofa most and generally reach for things in that type of blade length. The CS SHE2 is real pretty and so comfy. The JH10’s feel pretty effortless to use as well. I like ‘em all. I guess that’s why so can’t ever take part in the “if you could only have one” threads.

P purest , here's hoping for a quick and full recovery for you.

You know, the sad thing is, I really should have acquired my first Busse in 2009.

I was looking for something I could put in my truck in case of really bad emergency in the woods. Long of the sort I found the NMFBM (one I still have yet to acquire) on a knife seller website. I won’t mention the name, but I called them because their company name seems as if it would be physically located near me. The lady I spoke to was very nice but it wasn’t Busse. She proceeded to explain the Busse product and warranty, conveniently letting me know that I would have to send the knife back to the manufacturer if there was ever to be a problem with it. Then told me the manufacturer was located in a different state than she was, the knife I wanted was currently unavailable unless I wanted to buy one being sold used, and that I was looking at $1500.

Mind you, nowhere in this magnificent sales pitch was it stated that she was not affiliated with Busse, obviously I was not told about a mailing list, of course nothing was mentioned about this wonderful community or The Exchange, and I was told that Busse was made to order similar to some of the other manufactures that I care to not do business with (take you payment and ship you a knife in 3 years).

I don’t know that I would have spent less than I have so far. But I know I would have taken advantage of the Custom Shop before it’s current closure. I may have been lucky enough to score a BOSC-ID or a Hawkeye. There are a whole lot of knives from years past that I would absolutely love to have been able to get at release. Then again, not to knock any of the older models, but the ones that have been rereleased with minor changes only get better. But the most important thing to me was I would have been able to have a really nice blade in my truck 10 years earlier.

Thankfully, I have not gotten myself really stuck to need something to survive on.

Anyway, I won’t badmouth another company here, I just wish I had known then what I know now.

The one thing I am really happy about is that I was quoted $1500 when I had never bought a knife more expensive than about $30. The step was too big and I was left to sit here and dream of one.

All those years later I stumbled across Apocryphiliac Apocryphiliac selling something close enough to what I wanted that I took the plunge. He was nice enough to become a friend through the purchase.

Shortly after I got on the mailing list and talked to Amy-0 Amy-0 . I had a Busse in my hand and had talked to the people at the company, I was so happy to be able to give my money to Busse Combat when a new product I wanted was announced. I have dealt with a lot of companies in my life but very few that put out a best in class product, has the best customer service in the industry, and give you a bulletproof warranty. It seems like more of a family than a business/customer relationship. The only one that comes to mind that doesn’t produce a consumable item is a little lighter company I got hooked on called Zippo.

Sorry for the manifesto of a post. That one got away from me.

In September of 2019, I bought what I though would be my first/last/only Busse in the form of a a ASHBM and a TG14 from the exchange. I was warned how incorrect I was about this assumption and swore that “I am a gun guy.”
LOL. Told ya. :P;)

Right?!?!? Started here in 2006. By 2009 and two Blade Shows I had blown little resingirl's college fund and maxed several credit cards. 🤣🤬🤯
I was slightly embarrassed when I had to call the bank and ask them to approve a one time over limit purchase from Busse.

The bank completely screwed me. They said they don’t do that and just increased my limit.
