Hi gang,

Has anybody been in Lake Clark National Park (Alaska) ? There is a nice group adventure travel/kayaking offered by World expeditions

I wonder if it is really worthy as the price is on the high side. Your recommendations are most welcomed.

Personally, I've never been there. But those pics are beautiful! If you can spend the money... I would do it.

A little more info...

It seems that only 4300 people visit the place. So my chances of getting opinion of somebody who has been there are pretty slim :)

4 million acres

4,300 annual visits

Attractions: Lake Clark National Park and Preserve stretches from the shores of Cook Inlet, across the Chigmit Mountains, to the tundra covered hills of the western interior. This is a region of big volcanoes, big glaciers, and big lakes. The Chigmits, where the Alaska and Aleutian Ranges meet, are an awesome, jagged array of mountains and glaciers which include two active volcanoes, Mount Redoubt and Mount Iliamna. Lake Clark, 40 miles long, and many other lakes and rivers within the park are critical salmon habitat.

Only 4300 visits a year? In that case, I would DEFINITELY go there! When I go out to the boonies, I do like solitude. I don't like people walking past my campsite all day long.

Generally in life it's not the things you do you regret, it's the things you don't.

If you haven't seen the movie The Bucket List yet, suggest you rent it. If you don't spend the money on this, hope you can scratch something else off YOUR list.
